Christine McCall
Christine McCall was born in Ohio and moved to Livermore in 2005. She started her art career with intricate botanical drawings, and learned her techniques from Catherine Watters, the primary instructor and curriculum developer for the Filoli Botanical Art Certificate Program. From there she moved to new mediums, such as jewelry-making and photography. Her latest project is Livermore Kaleidoscopes, a celebration of Livermore history and landmarks. She takes pictures of iconic sights downtown, and historic buildings, and constructs them into beautiful kaleidoscope pictures. Although kaleidoscopes are based on a mirrored symmetry, Christine is beginning to bend her designs into more original forms, using spirals and other curves until the effect is almost abstract. Christine is also a software engineer, focusing on web development. She created both front end interfaces and back-end engines so she can blend her love of art with technology. She helps small businesses get their websites online, and uses social media and google tools to help them promote their products. Christine also designs advertisements for business, which have been printed in local magazines and newspapers.
