Biography
Born in Detroit, USA 1985 Lives and works in Detroit, USA His work comes out of his own experiences: from growing up in an all-black neighborhood in Detroit, to tattooing in Brazil and Los Angeles, to my fulltime commitment as an artist in the Bay Area. He paints life, black life, Latin life, what he sees around him. Capturing a time, a certain place at a certain time, reflecting his experiences. Intentionally androgynous, the people in his works are presented in poses that suggest close relationships: men with men, women with women, in powerful, positive representations of often-marginalized individuals. The places in which these figures are set are abstracted settings, slightly tropical, in pastel hues accentuated with black and a rich, dark brown. Palm trees, ornamental ironwork or a swimming pool imply that warmer place or state of mind.
