Biography
Ji Yong-Ho is a contemporary Korean sculptor known for his distinctive technique of working with recycled tires. Throughout his figural sculptures, he depicts a variety of animals and mythological hybrid creatures. Yong-Ho’s practice explores controversial issues of genetic modification and cultural waste, whilst simultaneously allowing him to pursue his interest in traditional and detailed anatomy. Born in 1978 in Seoul, South Korea, he went on to study at Hongik University in Seoul and received his MFA from New York University in 2008. Today, Yong-Ho’s works are in the collections of the Foundation for Contemporary Arts in New York and the Seoul Museum of Art. The artist lives and works in Seoul, South Korea.
