Biography

Kate Cummins was born and raised in London, Ontario Canada. A lifelong artist, Kate’s interests lie in a variety of mediums, especially those that offer a textural visual effect. Her work has been described as primitive, abstract, at times representational but not literal. Currently she is exploring large format paintings in encaustic and oil. Her vibrant use of color, mark making and layering invokes elements of architectural drawings which has been a common theme running through much of her work over the last couple years. Cummins holds a Fine art degree from the University of Western Ontario, and lives with her family in St. Petersburg, Florida.
