Biography
Bronx-born photographer Lee Jaffe (American, b. 1950) is also a celebrated filmmaker, musician and painter. After meeting Bob Marley in a New York hotel in 1972, Jaffe lived and worked with Marley in Jamaica for five years, during which time he managed the Wailers, organized a tour and played harmonica on the album Natty Dread. After turning to large-scale painting that explore themes of American marginalization in the 1980s, Jaffe wrote One Love: Life with Bob Marley and the Wailers in 2003. He continues to produce films and paintings, and has exhibited at international museums like Moderna Museet (Stockholm) and the Irish Museum of Modern Art (Dublin).
