Biography
Roger Mayne is a British photographer known for his series documenting the children of Southam Street, West London. Influenced as much by the St Ives school of artists as by his photographer contemporaries, Mayne consciously printed with high contrast to emphasise the formal qualities of his work and increased the scale of his prints to pursue a dialogue with contemporary painting.
