Biography
Born in Eleusis, Greece, Tsingos studied in the Architecture Department of the National Technical University of Athens and worked as an architect. In 1947, he collaborated with the architects of the new capital of Brazil. The same year he visited Paris where he settled until 1960 and devoted himself to painting and set design. He presented many solo exhibitions in France and Greece. Retrospective exhibitions of his work were organized at the National Gallery and at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. He was one of the first artists to express themselves through Art Informel internationally. His paintings are delirious, intense and their surfaces are full of reliefs. He is mostly known for his flower compositions.
