About This Auction
This season, Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary Online Sale presents an exciting and diverse array of international post-war and contemporary art and photography. The sale will feature nine works from Wolfgang Tillmans: The Way We Look, a private collection of photographic works by the renowned German artist, all appearing on the market for the first time. Alongside this are works by post-war masters such as David Hockney, Anselm Kiefer, Sol Lewitt, Jean Dubuffet and Andy Warhol alongside contemporary works by Hilary Pecis, Kiki Smith, Tunji Adeniyi-Jones and George Condo. Christie’s is proud to continue its collaboration with Art for Tropical Forests, a charity combining passion for art and dedication to the protection and conservation of tropical forests worldwide. The sale will feature a selection of contemporary works by Ai Weiwei, Herbert Brandl, Jenny Carlsson Grip and Jorinde Voigt. Proceeds from the sale of these lots will be used to strengthen Art for Tropical Forests’ diverse programming which includes habitat preservation, reforestation, forestry stewardship and the strengthening of local communities. The sale is open for bidding from 26 February to 12 March. A selection of highlights will be on view at Christie’s King Street from 27 February.
