Fortes D'Aloia & Gabriel
Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel stands for the vigor and quality in Brazilian contemporary art in the international circuit at large. It represents 40 artists – ranging from Brazilians to foreigners, emerging to the well established – through a dynamic and diversified program. It promotes an average of 12 exhibitions a year, as well as book launches, workshops, screenings and talks with leading professionals in the field . The gallery participates in major international art fairs and regularly supports institutional exhibitions.
Founded in 2001 by Márcia Fortes and Alessandra D’Aloia as Galeria Fortes Vilaça, it had its name changed in 2016 when Alexandre Gabriel, until then its Artistic Director, became partner. Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel currently runs three exhibition venues with distinct profiles - Galeria and Galpão in São Paulo, and Carpintaria in Rio de Janeiro - and an office in Lisbon to oversee its international operations.
