Gallery Espace
Gallery Espace was established in the year 1989 in New Delhi (India), by opening its doors with an exhibition of autobiographical works by legendary artist M F Husain. Primarily built around the artistic vision of its Founder/Director, Renu Modi, over the past 28 years, Espace has worked with an inter-disciplinary approach, which is visible in the dynamic exhibitions/projects undertaken along with the diverse list of artists represented, which include a few names like: Zarina Hashmi, Nilima Sheikh, Amit Ambalal, Manjunath Kamath, G R Iranna, Ravi Agarwal, Chitra Ganesh, Chintan Upadhyay, Waswo X Waswo with R. Vijay, Manisha Gera Baswani, Samit Das, Arunkumar HG, Dilip Chobisa and Nandini Chirimar. Uninhibited by preconceived notions and art movements from the past, Espace has to its credit curated exhibitions, probably some of the first in the Indian art scene. Taking this practice forward, Espace has recently embarked on cross-cultural artistic exchanges with artists from South Asian countries. Espace continuously aims to foster relationships with institutions and artists bringing about active discourses around art, scholarship and business partnerships.
