Southard Reid opened in Soho, London in 2010. Its primary commitment is towards providing philosophically generative space for artists to develop their work, communicate and present to high quality. A foundational objective was to nurture establishment of trust, with artists and with audience, blended by programming with curiosity and the taking of creative risk. Since the outset Southard Reid has worked with artists across generations as a natural reflection of the making and showing of art. Exhibitions, projects and art fair presentations have provided ambitious and pivotal springboards for broad and institutional showing of gallery artists' – for example, Joanna Piotrowska, Prem Sahib, Edward Thomasson, Ann Craven, Celia Hempton, R.M. Fischer and Hany Armanious.
