Andrew Bolam is an English born artist who's work has followed a broad and intuitive path over the last 17 years, but a consistent theme has emerged: The West. Andrew Bolam views the West through the lens of a young English boy fascinated with cowboys and indians. As an adult he has travelled extensively across the west, broadening his appreciation and encouraging his passion for that which makes western culture and themes so uniquely beautiful. His work is part homage, part deconstruction and part personal meditation. By presenting familiar traditional western subject matter in a straight forward modern way, Bolam encourages the viewer to consider western icons as important emblems of pop culture. He strives to present the simplest possible expressions of complex ideas. With bold and sophisticated color palettes, Andrew creates paintings that are powerful and striking.
