A complete record for every work

Most collections live across invoices, email threads, phone photos and memory. ArtCollection.io brings them into one record per work, with fields for everything a registrar, insurer or heir will ask for, and room to attach the paperwork behind each answer.

  • Unlimited imagesAdd as many photographs as you need; the first becomes the cover image.
  • Purchase historyPrice, currency, date and the gallery or auction house it came from, with the invoice attached.
  • Provenance, exhibitions and literatureRecord each history in full and attach the supporting documents to it.

How It Works

From a folder of receipts to a finished catalogue

Most collectors are set up in an afternoon.

  1. 01

    Bring your list in

Import a spreadsheet of up to 22 fields per work, or add works one at a time on the web or on your phone.

  2. 02

    Fill in the record

Add images, values, provenance and documents as you find them. Each work gets an inventory number automatically.

  3. 03

    Use it

Export a PDF or contact sheet for your insurer, share selected works in a private room, and follow your artists at auction.

Questions from private collectors

What is the best way to document an art collection?

Keep one record per work with good photographs, the artist, title, date, medium and dimensions, the purchase invoice, provenance, condition notes and any appraisals, and store it somewhere other than the house the art is in. ArtCollection.io gives every work a structured record with attachments for each of these, kept in the cloud and on your phone.

Is ArtCollection.io free?

Yes. The free plan covers up to five artworks. Premium covers 50 works and Pro is unlimited, both with a 7-day free trial.

Can I import my existing spreadsheet?

Yes. Upload a CSV, match its columns to our fields (title, artist, medium, dimensions, purchase and valuation details, provenance, condition, notes and more) and preview before importing. Images are added afterwards.

Does ArtCollection.io value my art automatically?

No. You record the values that matter to you (market, replacement and insurance) and keep appraisals against each work. The auction database helps you research comparable sales for your artists.

Can I track furniture and other objects too?

Yes. Categories go beyond fine art to furniture, decorative objects and other collectibles, so the whole collection can live in one place.

Who can see my collection?

Only you, unless you choose to share. Private rooms let you share selected works and choose which details, such as purchase price or valuation, appear.
