Biography
Born in 1960 in Algiers, Antonio Garcia León lives and works in Paris and Barcelona. After a school of applied art and advertising drawing he entered the Beaux Arts in Paris and went through the workshops of Paul Clément in drawing and Claude Viseux in sculpture. At the same time as this training, he continued his apprenticeship with Knez Radivoje, Caroline Lee, Braun-Vega, Jean Clerte, and for 10 years assisted the artist and architect Bernard Quentin. At eighteen he already exhibited at the Salon des Réalités Nouvelles . His vocabulary is abstract, centered on the organization of elements, structure and rhythm: in short, a clear and constructed language. From the start of his career, it was therefore from Malevich and Mondrian that he found the answers to his need for the absolute. In addition to his plastic interventions in urban space, he is regularly exhibited in France and abroad, especially in Spain.
