Biography

Artist Nyein Chan Kyaw has an ability to see landscapes and nature in most simplistic form and recreate them combining with his talent and originality. He never tries to create art with intention of pleasing audience but he creates art to his heart’s content and delivers the natural results directly to audience. Nyein Chan Kyaw is born in 1959 in Mone Ywar city of middle Myanmar. He studied art under guidance of renowned Myanmar artists: U Ko Ko Lay (MDY), U Khin Maung(Bank) and U Than Nyunt (Ye U). He has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions to date. While working as staffer at the Department of Agriculture, he had a chance to visit to some of the most picturesque countryside. That experiences became good foundation for his later creations as the images poured naturally out of his mind onto the canvas. “These are the outcomes of what I perceived at the wonderful places I’ve visited. The colors I mostly used may be dreamy as they are direct results of my mental images of the places. While much of Nyein Chan Kyaw works are representational, he believes it’s abstraction that liberates him as an artist. He often refers his own painting as “Dreamscapes” because they portray a world that oscillates somewhere between reality and imagination. That’s probably the reason why his paintings ironic taste of dreamy and familiar at the same time.
