His great-grandmother, Russian and Soviet poet Marina Ivanovna Tsvetaeva, is considered one of the most acclaimed poets of 20th century Russian literature. His great-grandfather, Ivan Vladimirovich Tsvetaev, was an art scholar, philologist, and founder of what is now known as the Pushkin Museum of Fine Art.
