David Heo is a Chicago-based artist. He recently received his Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His works reflect on the irregular rhythm of pleasure and leisure, fleeting moments and mundane relationships. Through subtle imagery, vibrant colors and synthetic materials, Heo playfully critiques issues such as the commodification of Asian identity within popular American culture. Heo’s work has been exhibited nationally, featured in publications and presented on Pop TV’s series Hot Date.
