Denise Treizman
Biography
Denise Treizman is an artist from Chile, currently based in New York. Her sculpture and installation repurpose found and ready-made objects, combined with ceramics, weavings and drawings created in a highly intuitive manner. Treizman has an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts. She has participated in residencies at Vermont Studio Center (Johnson, VT), Ox-Bow (Saugatuck, MI), NARS Foundation (Brooklyn, NY), ACRE (Steuben, WI), Triangle Workshop (Salem, NY) and MASS MoCA Assets for the Artists. (North Adams, MA). She was fellow at the Bronx’s Museum Artist in the Marketplace program and a mentor for NYFA’s Immigrant Artist Program. In 2015, she was awarded a studio membership at the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, where she currently works. Treizman has had solo exhibitions at Cuchifritos Gallery (NY, NY), Wave Hill’s Sunroom Project Space (Bronx, NY), Soho20 +/- Project Space (Brooklyn, NY), M.E.N. Gallery (NY, NY) and Proto Gallery (Hoboken, NJ).
