Biography
Etcher and painter specialising in architectural and landscape subjects. Worked for a while as a cabinet maker before becoming a self-taught artist Born in Bristol in 1884. Exhibited at the Royal Academy, Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool and elsewhere. A member of the Royal West of England Academy. He travelled widely and produced etchings of architectural subjects in France, Italy, Spain, Belguim and Holland as well as British cities and many of the west country and his native Bristol. Frost and Read produced much of his work. Lived in Portishead, Bristol and laterly in Cornwall. The City Art Gallery, Bristol, holds his work.
