Biography

Emery Gluck is a visual artist based in New Orleans, Louisiana. She earned her B.F.A at Tulane University in 2018, and has since participated in numerous exhibitions. In July of 2018 she was awarded an artist residency at the Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans for Early Art Practitioners. Additionally, she has received the Sandy Chism Memorial Award in Painting as well as several juror’s awards. Gluck’s work has been published and discussed in The Tulane Review (2016) , ApartmentTherapy.com (2018), and Minor League (2019). Her work has been sold to collectors both locally and across the United States. Gluck will be participating in a residency at PADA in Barreiro Alto, Portugal in fall 2020. Gluck’s work is rooted in the intersection between tension and release and an exploration of the way in which they exist within us. Her goal is to make work that feels proximate, there to touch the viewer, but also distant and enigmatic.
