Biography

Born in Mexico City in 1972, Emiliano Gironella Parra is the son of the artists Alberto Gironella and Carmen Parra. Emiliano is internationally recognized for his dialogues and writings about Artempatía, or Empathy Art and his diverse social artistic practice. Gironella Parra graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan where he studied Sculpture, Photography and Engraving. Since then, he has experimented with various media such as Oil, Watercolor, Lithography, Video, Light Installation and Screen Printing, amongst others. Conceptually, Gironella Parra implements his wide range of media to comment on topics of tradition, violence and social injustice in Mexico.
