Born in Peoria, Illinois, by an artist Mother and a mechanic Father, Emily grew up with a paintbrush in one hand and a hammer in the other. Both of these mentalities have shaped her into who she is today – a handy creative who prefers to build it herself based on vision and design. In undergrad, Emily concentrated in painting and photography, graduating in 2008 with a double BFA. She left Peoria in 2011 and landed in New York for a Master’s degree in Contemporary Art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art. During her time in New York she worked for several collections and artists, most notably a private collection that ranks in the Top 200 in the world. In addition to managing archives, Emily maintains a studio practice where she works in photography, painting, illustration and collage mediums. She currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
