Biography
In the work of Frans Buitinga (1930-1994) his relation to nature is predominantly central. This is how beautiful works were created in an abstract expressionism based on recognizable elements from nature: willows, butterflies, birds, etc. After high school in Doetinchem, he took drawing and painting lessons. He provided for himself as a window dresser and also developed into a well-known painter. For many years he lived in Zelhem and also worked for the Galerie Bibliotheek. In addition to painting, Frans Buitinga has also made plastics in combinations of different materials and characterized by an exciting line play. Both a graphic work as well as a painting and a plastic can be seen in the library.
