Biography

Myer's work includes painting, ceramic sculpture, sculpture (of all techniques and materials), and public art. His solo exhibitions include the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (1992), International Museum of Art for Ceramics, Faenza, Italy (2001); Armory Center for the Arts, Pasadena (2003); Seto Museum of Art, Seto, Japan (1999); MOCA, Albisola, Italy (1992); Museo Montelupo, Italy (1992); Ruth Siegel Gallery, New York (1991); John Berggruen Gallery, San Francisco (1986 , 1984); Berkeley Art Museum (1985); Laguna Museum of Art (1985); University Art Museum, UC Santa Barbara (1985); Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery (1982); McIntosh/Drysdale Gallery, Washington, DC (1982); and Janus Gallery, Los Angeles (1981).He has received Individual Artist Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Durfee Foundation. A massive installation fabricated on-site will open at the Russian Museum of Modern Art in 2008. Among group exhibitions in which Myers has participated are Out of Hand, MOCA, Los Angeles (2006); Gorbachev Peace Foundation Collection, Moscow, Russia (2004); Le Biennali Contemporanea, Museo di Fiorano, Italy (2004); Graphic Works, Cirrus Gallery, Los Angeles (2003); Everson Museum Ceramic National (2002); Raccolta Contemporanea, Museo Nazionale, Prague, Czechoslovakia (2002); Concorso Internazionale, Faenza, Italy (2001); Dalla Terra, Palazzo di Consuli, Gubbio-Umbria, Italy (1999); Matrix, Berkeley Art Museum (1995); Omaggio a Enzo Ferrari, Castello di Spezzano, Modena, Italy (1998); and Words, Whitney Museum, New York (1979).
