Biography

Born on 5 December 1864, in Sheerness, Kent, Henry Tozer spent much of his life living and painting in Cornwall, England. Tozer is highly regarded as a painter of country life, with a bias towards cottage interiors. Many of Henry’s paintings are of older people in domestic situations. He often included one or two figures, usually an elderly couple, in his paintings. He was known to have exhibited at Birmingham as well as exhibiting and selling a painting at the Opening of Newlyn Art Gallery. Henry Tozer was an artist of great skill and his paintings have a strong following. His works can be found in collections around the world. He died at The Clump, Thurlsey on 15th November 1955
