Biography
Jack McConville (Scottish, b. 1984) studied at the Academy of Fine Art in Vienna and graduated from the Glasgow School of Art with a B.A. His paintings draw from digital culture like gaming and online finance, treating them with an art history sensibility. His color and flat brushstroke are flavored with Matisse, Ingres and the figurative fluidity of Japanese woodblock artists. McConville’s work has appeared in numerous group exhibitions. He has had solo exhibitions in LA, Glasgow and Edinburgh. He lives in Glasgow.
