James Stewart
Biography
James studied at Thiel College (1985-1986) and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (1989-1992). He has shown his work in New York and Philadelphia. A selection of his numerous awards include the following: Guggenheim Fellowship for Painting From the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, Philadelphia, PA Arco Chemical Co, Purchase Prize Benjamin West Prize Black and White Print Prize Cantor Memorial Scholarship Cresson Scholarship Prize Governor’s Prize Mary Townsen & William Clarke Mason Memorial Prize Paul & Pearl Miller Carpel Award Philadelphia Artist Award Samuel David Memorial Prize Stewardson Prize For Sculpture Stimson Prize For Sculpture Thouron Prize Ward Prize in Sculpture – Special Notice Watkins Grant
