She has exhibited work at the Queens Museum (Queens, NY); Underdonk, (Brooklyn, NY); Nurture Art (Brooklyn, NY); Spectral Lines (Queens, NY); New Hampshire Institute of Art (Manchester, NH); Platform Stockholm (Stockholm, SE); Brooklyn Art Council (Brooklyn, NY); Pelham Arts Center (Pelham, NY); Family Business (New York, NY); Smack Mellon (Brooklyn, NY); Museum of Contemporary Art (Atlanta, GA); and Atlanta Contemporary (Atlanta, GA) among other venues. Her work is held in the permanent collection at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Atlanta, GA. Residencies and fellowships include Bronx Museum AIM (2019), Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (2018), Lighthouse Works (2018), and The Constance Saltonstall Foundation for the Arts (2017). Hoeckele holds an MFA from Hunter College. Drawing from found images, objects, and texts, Hoeckele constructs photographic work that quotes from and continuously reconfigures dominant works of the Western canon. The act of isolating and recombining source material emphasizes the fragility of a single narrative. In this non-linear space she reconsiders layered histories and builds hypothetical connections across historical, personal, and technological timescales.
