Lani Trock
Biography
Lani Trock is a multidisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. From the intersection of sculpture, photographic, installation and social practices, she investigates the evolution of human consciousness. Utilizing our relationship to nature as an entry point, her process cultivates an awareness of the universe as a fundamentally interconnected, symbiotic organism, honoring each participant as essential to the collective whole. Her work envisions alternative future paradigms, that embody a cultural shift away from scarcity, commodification and competition, in favor of abundance, collaboration and mutual benefit. She received a BA in Philosophy from UC Santa Cruz in 2006 and has resided in Los Angeles in the years since. She has presented work with The LA Municipal Art Gallery, Nicodim Gallery, Jeffery Deitch Gallery, HILDE, the LA County Arts Commission, Merchant Gallery, Big Pictures, Project Art, Spring Break Art Fair, Junior High, and the Other Places Art Fair. The primary objective of her practice is to advocate for the peaceful evolution and spiritual elevation of humankind.
