Born in Jerusalem, Lea Avizedek is a descendant of an orthodox family rooted in Israel for five generations. She received her formal art training at several institutions including the acclaimed Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem and the School of Drawing in Tel Aviv. Avizedek’s primary focus is the female form using varying mediums of chalk, pencil, acrylic or watercolor applied loosely and finished with finer paint or stenciled. Her simple lines with bold silhouettes have earned comparisons to the post-impressionist work of Toulouse-Lautrec.
