Biography
Magali Lara (b. 1956, Mexico City) lives and works in Mexico City. She studied Visual Arts at the Academia de San Carlos. In 1977, she had her first solo exhibition, “Tijeras” (Scissors), in which she showed drawings with texts in a comic strip fashion. Since her early works, Lara has established an intimate relationship with writing. During the 1970s, she worked with feminist themes, reflecting on female experience and its social conditions.
