Biography

Seeing abstract elements in figurative subjects & the space between things, flow and movement all inspire me to paint in a variety of media. Often it starts with a charcoal drawing which is worked over with gesso, paint, plaster & sometimes crayón/pastel, creating different textures and layers. More recently I've taken inspiration from some classical pieces which offer a rich source of ideas, particularly regarding textures, colors & movement. I work as a freelance decorative painter using a wide range of techniques such as aging and antiquing furniture, frescoes, hand-painted details, marbling, ​etc. Some of the techniques I use to cross over into my artwork. If I'm not working in a client's property, I take pieces to my studio and work on those and my artwork at the same time. Recent projects have included work in two historic palace buildings. My work is featured in the book 'Mallorca's Best Recommendations'.
