Biography
Marc Agusil started out as a duet with his cousin Maria, with whom he developed his unique technique. Indeed, cousins and close by their centers of interest, they trained separately in the techniques of the plastic arts before coming together to create in pairs. Fascinated by female faces , Agusil turned towards portraiture from the start . He is inspired by as many photographs as by the people he meets. The blurring of the colored spots contrasts with the piercing eyes and the precisely sculpted lips , revealing all the character of his characters. His work is inspired by " action painting ", a movement that emphasizes the painter's physical performance . Agusil works instinctively, with lively and confident gestures and leaves a lot of room for chance.
