Biography

Martin Bigum (born 1966) is a Danish autodidact multi artist mostly known for his paintings. His inspirations are multiple ranging from satirical cartoons, to his childhood and history of art. His paintings are colorful and busy, and the topics range from humorous to poetical and existential – always with a strong urge to communicate with the beholder. Martin Bigum is represented in national and international collections such as ARKEN, AroS and SMK/The National Gallery of Denmark and selected international collaborations and exhibitions such as La Bibliothèque de France, Blondeau Fine Art Services, Geneva, CH, Galerie Rodolphe Janssen, Brussels, BE, Galerie Jochen Hempel, Leipzig, DE, Wohnmaschine, Berlin, DE, Galerie Burkhard Eikelman, Essen, DE, Frederick R.
