Mountaineer and traveller, Mauro originates from the art world. Trained in the restoration of contemporary art works, he has been working for the development and realization of project either with museaums, or contributing with his skills with international artists. His practice has often started when some artists needed to enlarge their capacities in order to produce particularly complex art works. In parallel, by following his sensitivity that has always linked him to nature, he has carried out a research aiming to realize works capable to give back their essential forms in all its beauty, by replacing their original constituting material. All that, carefully avoiding to add any subjective datum, but also considering a personal poetic side unavoidable in his practice. Natural elements, apparently different from each other, present a common structure. It is the structure that links them to the world, the harmony distorting the perception of all that surrounds us. It is the structure, hence this perception, that renders them times familiar, at sometimes alien. It is the sensation of estrangement and, simultanously, of intimacy that entangles us when we go for a walk in the woods.
