Michelle Weinberg
Biography
In addition to making drawings and paintings in her studio, Michelle Weinberg creates art for surfaces, interiors, architecture and public spaces. Whether paint and mosaic murals, floors of terrazzo and hydraulic cement tile, handmade ceramic tile, hand-knotted carpets, printed panels, adhesive wraps and light boxes, Weinberg describes her work in all mediums as vivid backdrops for human activity. She is the recipient of awards, fellowships and residencies from Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, MacDowell Colony, Millay Colony, South Florida Cultural Consortium, State of Florida Individual Artist, Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, homesession and Fundacion Valparaiso in Spain, Studios at MASS MoCA, 100West Corsicana, and more. Exhibitions and installations of her work include Delaware Valley Arts Alliance, Hewitt Gallery at Marymount Manhattan, ARENA, New York Public Library in NYC, Frost Art Museum and Wolfsonian Museum in Miami, Miami International Airport, Miami-Dade County Art in Public Places and Facebook offices. Weinberg divides her time between New York City and Miami, FL.
