Biography

mr. pinkbrush - contemporary pop art Since childhood, Fabian Frohly – known as Mr. Pinkbrush – has been captivated by the magic of classic cartoon animation from Disney, Looney Tunes & Co. This world has shaped his imagination and continues to inspire both his art and his life today. Artist Statement My work creates a visual bridge between collective childhood memory and contemporary identity. At its core lies a search for new visual languages – expressed in a humorous and uplifting manner, yet rooted in depth and social reflection. Each painting tells a story and serves as a visual voice for topics that shape our time – bold, vibrant, emotional, and striking. A key concept within my practice is what I call the “SuperRaw Movement”: a deliberate juxtaposition of the raw and unfinished with the realistic and refined. This contrast reveals the inherent beauty in imperfection – much like the golden fractures in the Japanese philosophy of Kintsugi. As I wrote at the very beginning of my career in 2005: “Authenticity as a synonym for aesthetics – that is what I aim to express.” The result is a hybrid visual language that invites reflection on identity, nostalgia, and the aesthetic codes of our visual upbringing – shaped by both Eastern and Western cultures. And all of it wrapped in the emotional beauty and magic of the cartoon animation universe.
