Biography

Blake is an interdisciplinary artist living in New York. Blake's work has been shown extensively since 1990, notably in one-person survey exhibitions at the Yerba Center for the Arts in San Francisco, Location One in New York, and the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. Blake participated in the 1991 Whitney Biennial and the 1993 Venice Biennale, and was awarded a John Simon Guggenheim Fellowship in 2012. "Nayland Blake: No Wrong Holes," a full-scale retrospective at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, will travel to the MIT List Visual Arts Center in 2020.
