Nicasio Fernandez
Biography
Nicasio Fernandez’s surrealist canvases are populated with exaggerated humanoid forms who occupy a world remarkably close to our own but with a heightened sense of both humor and unease. Fernandez’s characters are in some respects fantastical, with elongated snouts and exaggerated proportions, but they are often engaged in methodical pursuits like bricklaying. Fernandez studied at the School of Visual Arts in New York and has exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Seoul, Philadelphia, Austin, and Seattle. His works are in the collections of the Hall Art Foundation and the Beth Rudin DeWoody Collection
