Ofra Lapid was born in Tel Aviv, Israel, and has been living in NYC since 2012. She works in photography, sculpture and installation. She earned her MFA from Hunter College (2015), and has participated in artists’ residencies including at Atlantic Center for the Arts, FL with Artist Josiah McElheny (2016); Vermont Studio Center, VT (2016); Fountainhead, Miami, FL (2016), Sculpture Space, Utica, NY (2015), and has been an artist-in-residence at Hercules Art Studio Program, a two-year program that provides subsidized studios to 7 selected artists in Tribeca, NYC (2016-2018), and currently in its new formation, Hercules Long Island City through 2020. Lapid participated in exhibitions at galleries and institutions including at Projects at-Fifteen, Tel Aviv (2019); Essex Flowers, NYC (2018); Hercules Gallery, NYC (2017); 205 Hudson Gallery, NYC (2015); Les Nuits Photographiques #5, Pavillon Carré de Beaudouin, Paris (2015); The Haifa Museum of Art, Israel (2015); The Drefler Gallery in Jerusalem (2015); The Center for Contemporary Art, Tel Aviv (2012); Fresh Paint, Contemporary Art Fair, Tel Aviv (2011), and at Periscope Gallery in Salzburg, Austria (2010) among others. She’s been written about and interviewed by different publications, including Wired Magazine, Hi Fructose Magazine, and A5 publication.
