Biography
Pucci De Rossi was born in Verona, in Italy, on March 4th, 1947. As he studied with the American sculptor HB Walker, he began his artistic career in the early 70s, in Verona, in a 24 hours open house. He created his first "sculptures "in this studio: a series of thrones built by assembling furniture from different periods. It was defined by critics as "fantastic and surreal". In the late 70s, while in Italy MEMPHIS was developing, Pucci De Rossi left Italy for Paris. This rupture remains constant in his work and in his life. If the 80s were marked by the baroque and kitsch movements, the 90s marked the beginning of more"thoughtful" and "meticulous" work. Pucci De Rossi died in July 2013.
