Biography
Founded in 2004, Reena Spaulings Fine Art quickly earned a reputation as the most energetic and innovative gallery outside of Chelsea. Originally located in a storefront on Manhattans Lower East Side, Reena Spaulings elaborated a program of local and international contemporary artists while attempting to rethink the format and function of a New York gallery today. In addition to launching the solo careers of artists such as Seth Price, Klara Liden, Josh Smith and others, Reena Spaulings has been an active organizer of artist collaborations, performances, events and frequent side projects, keeping its own definition open while pursuing a collective approach to both production and exhibition.
