Ron Hinton
Ron received his BFA and MFA from the University of Kansas, and has been an active metal artist for more than 30 years. Over the years, Ron’s sculptural boxes and wall forms have been shown in prestigious juried shows and exhibitions, including fine-craft shows sponsored by the American Craft Council, the Philadelphia Art Museum, the Women’s Committee of the Smithsonian Associates, and the Denver Art Museum; and juried exhibitions at the Society of Arts and Crafts in Boston, Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, Berkshire Museum in Massachusetts, Dallas Cultural Center, Downey Museum of Art in California, and Denver International Airport. His artwork also has been represented by galleries from coast to coast. Ron also has created original works of art for numerous corporate commissions, including The Ann Arbor Public Library, One International Place in Dallas, Waterford Park in Minneapolis, Nebraska Health Systems in Omaha, Hiratsuka, Japan, City Hall, One Meridian Crossing in Minneapolis, the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City, and Emprise Bank Corporate Headquarters in Wichita, Kansas. His work was highlighted in the 2007 edition of “500 Metal Vessels: Contemporary Exploration of Containment, and was also the subject of a 1995 film produced for the KU Spencer Museum of Art entitled, "Ron Hinton: A Profile in Bronze."
