Born in 1976, Sébastien Wavrant lives and works in Lille.
Trained in Belgium at the Saint-Luc Institute in Tournai, he graduated in 1996.
A specialist in drawing and illustration, he began his career as a graphic designer in an advertising agency, which allowed him to renew his relationship to the image while keeping a critical eye on his work as an artist.
His career led him to put this knowledge also at the service of interior design. He likes to stage decorative atmospheres and to use his pictorial techniques to respond to various specific commands. He leads the architecture to an end, in rational and poetic detail, playing with the spaces, the light, the color, the furniture, the equipment, the objects and the personality of the occupant to create decorations that reflect so the likes of the sponsor.
Sébastien Wavrant loves above all to share and transmit his passion for graphic arts. He teaches in 1998 and still today at the Millennium, a place of artistic creation centered on learning visual arts in La Madeleine. He works with young and adult audiences to teach them the techniques and basics of drawing and color but also to guide them in their artistic process and to discover or affirm the style of their own.
As artistic coordinator, he promotes regional creation by organizing regular collective or individual exhibitions. It arouses meetings between artists, students in its workshops and audiences by offering up to five retrospectives per season in the exhibition space of the cultural center.
At the same time, his personal artistic production focuses on drawing and painting, sometimes by volume. Sébastien Wavrant combines the current techniques: acrylic, oil, gouaches, inks, aerosols, markers, brushes, markers, charcoals ....
His work deals with different graphic facets. With humor and emotions, the artist likes to combine colors, contrasts, styles to create series of creations with varied universes: abstract paintings, illustrations of medieval inspirations, portraits or even drawings of nudes ...
