Shirley Olson
Biography
An accomplished sculptor and painter, Shirley La Ree Olson seeks to create a reflective moment in the viewer`s heart and mind. She portrays figurative images in sculpture with perception of character and as “three dimensional moments.” The passion of the child, “LaRee”, was art. Her formal art education came much later, however. After raising five sons in Evergreen, Colorado. Shirley earned degrees from the Rocky Mountain College of Art and the University of Colorado. Now her passion for art is rekindled through painting, and occasional workshops. Shirley is of the fifth generation of Colorado pioneers and a former signature member of Women Artists of the West.
