Skye Gilkerson
Skye Gilkerson creates poignant conceptual projects across a range of media, including sculpture, installation, photography, film and collage. With a sense of wonder, tenderness, and humor, her work encourages a contemplation of the tension between time and timelessness, place and placelessness, and the human and universal scale. -Jodi Lundgren, Curator Gilkerson’s work has been shown internationally and across the United States at the Pensacola Museum of Art, the Contemporary Museum of Baltimore, and FLAG Foundation in New York. She was awarded a Chenven Foundation Grant, a Smack Mellon Studio Fellowship, and Artist Residency Grants with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, the Vermont Studio Center, the La Napoule Art Foundation in France, and Tilleard Projects in Kenya. Gilkerson’s work is featured in Learning to Love You More by Harrell Fletcher and Miranda July, and is in the Robert L. Pfannebecker Collection, the Vanderbilt University Collection, and many personal collections in the US and Germany.
