Biography

Tim Stoner is an English painter born in 1970 in Essex. He grew up in London and pursued his education in art at several prestigious institutions. Stoner studied at the Norwich School of Art & Design from 1989 to 1992, followed by the Royal College of Art in London, where he earned an MA in Painting in 1994. He further honed his skills at the Rijksakademie Van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam between 1997 and 1998. Stoner's work gained significant recognition when he won the Beck's Futures art award in 2001, a testament to his talent and innovative approach to painting. That same year, he also worked at the British School at Rome, which further enriched his artistic practice. Stoner's paintings are known for their vibrant use of color and exploration of themes related to memory and place. His works are collected for their dynamic compositions and the way they capture the essence of both urban and natural environments. Stoner's contributions to contemporary painting continue to be celebrated in exhibitions and collections worldwide.
