Vaclav Bostik was born in Horni Ujezd near litomysl, (Czech Republic). He graduated from the High Technical School in Prague - (1933-1937) - and the Academy of Art in Prague, (1937-1939,1945 Prof. Mowak). Bostik’s first one-man show occurred in 1957 and he participated in a collective exhibition in 1937. He has been a member of Umelecka Beseda (Art discussion group) since 1960. In 1960 he and V.Bartovsky founded the art group UB12. Bostik was a member of the Art Union New group from 1988 until 1990.
